ACTS ML is a free machine learning platform that helps everyday people — farmers, accountants, researchers, students, and community workers — turn their data into useful predictions and insights, without writing any code.

ACTS ML is a project backed by ACTS (African Centre for Technology Studies), built on years of AI-related research focused on making technology accessible across Africa and beyond.

What Can You Do with ACTS ML?​

  • Organise your work into projects. Each project is a container that holds the data, training runs, and predictions for one model.
  • Upload and manage datasets. Bring in your own data files and add helpful details like sector, region, and description so you can find them easily later.
  • Share your data. Mark datasets as open source so others in the community can benefit, or reuse datasets that others have shared.
  • Prepare data for training. Clean up messy data and handle missing values using simple visual tools and one-click recommendations.
  • Build a model with a guided wizard. A step-by-step wizard walks you through defining the problem, choosing data, training, and making predictions, and you never write any code.

Who Is This For?​

ACTS ML is designed for non-technical users. You do not need any programming or data science experience. The platform guides you through every step with a simple, straightforward interface.

How It Works​

Everything happens inside a guided project creation wizard. You just follow the steps:

  1. Sign up for a free account.
  2. Define your problem. Answer a few guiding questions so the platform can steer the rest of the process.
  3. Choose your data. Upload a new dataset or pick an existing one.
  4. Prepare your data using the built-in cleaning tools and recommendations.
  5. Train your model. The platform handles the training, and power users can still tune the settings.
  6. Make predictions and review how well your model performs.
